Crystallographic Parameter
MFA Model

During my 12 week internship at Wolfspeed, I developed a model to predict certain* Start Process Parameters (used to separate wafers from crystal) of 150mm Silicon Carbide crystal boules by measuring a certain* Crystallographic Parameter (a feature that impacts the ability to split wafers) in order to facilitate crystal wafering and reduce scrap yield and rework rates in additional polish processes.

All through the course of this project, I analyzed over 1000 data sets of crystal boules with different material properties and nitrogen doping concentrations to plot a bivarate fit of the Start Process Parameters and Minimum Crystallographic Parameters to predict further Start Process Parameters using the polynomial curve fot function. Constraints included temperature ranges between 20-24° C and correct function of the *machines used in the process.
